CHESTER, VIRGINIA – The new Victory DiaScope 85mm spotting scope from Carl Zeiss has won Field & Stream magazine’s prestigious Best of the Best Award in the essentials category for 2010. This highly regarded annual awards program recognizes the most innovative and best designed products in the hunting industry each year and the value these innovations bring to hunters. Here’s what the Field & Stream experts had to say about the ZEISS DiaScope in their September 2010 Best of the Best Issue:
“The DiaScope is superior in sharpness, focus, zoom and armored construction. When I tested for waterproofness, it floated. I could judge buck antelope miles away with it on a cloudy day. The cost can be made up in saved boot leather. – T.M.”
“We are honored to receive recognition of our innovation from such a highly respected publication as Field & Stream,” said Erik Schumacher, president of Carl Zeiss Sports Optics. “The new DiaScope was redesigned for maximum optical performance and durability, and we are elated that our efforts have been so well received.”
This marks the third major industry award for the ZEISS DiaScope this year. The 85mm DiaScope also won the 2010 Outdoor Life Editor’s Choice Award and Petersen’s Hunting magazine’s Editor’s Choice Award.
The DiaScope is available in 65mm or 85mm models, straight or angled, and the newly designed eyepieces include the Vario D 15-56x / 20-75x, the most powerful and versatile eyepiece on the market today. All DiaScope eyepieces feature Carl Zeiss’ LotuTec® water repellant coating and the new bayonet locking system securely locks the eyepieces onto the body of the scope yet still allows for quick and easy changing.
Other enhancements include the new, sleek rubber-armored exterior for improved feel and protection of the highly durable magnesium/aluminum housing and the exceptional optical performance of FL lens system produces extremely detailed, sharp and brilliant images, even in the most demanding lighting and weather conditions.
