On Exhibit at NRA Gathering: Weatherby’s® New SA-08 28 Gauge Deluxe

Weatherby‘s® new SA-08 28 Gauge Deluxe semi-automatic shotgun offers bird hunters light recoil, reliable performance and a distinctly handsome look. Those attending the NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits May 3-5 in Houston, Texas, can check out the gun firsthand at the Weatherby booth, #2429.

This SA-08 model features a specially-designed, scaled-down frame to fit 28-gauge shells. Weighing approximately 5.5 pounds, the shotgun is available with a 26- or 28-inch barrel and 2 ¾-inch chamber.

“Like all SA-08 semi-auto shotguns, our 28 Gauge Deluxe can be relied on to function and perform well in the field,” said Mike Schwiebert, Weatherby’s director of marketing. “Recoil is negligible, making it a great choice for the fast action of high-volume dove shooting, as well as quail and other upland game birds. It is precisely balanced, and feels trim and lightweight-a real pleasure to shoot.”

The SA-08 28 Gauge Deluxe sports a select-grade walnut stock with precision-cut checkering (22 LPI) for a positive, responsive feel. A high-gloss finish on the stock and metalwork adds to the shotgun’s eye-catching appearance.

Other key features:

CNC-machined receiver constructed of aircraft-grade aluminum alloy to reduce overall
weight without compromising strength, and improve the gun’s balance for easier
handling
drop-out trigger system can be quickly removed for easy cleaning and reassembled
chrome-lined barrel can withstand years of high-volume shooting and reduce the effort
necessary to keep the barrel clean
barrel has lengthened forcing cones for improved patterns and less shooter fatigue
vented top rib for smooth follow-through after the shot; also dissipates heat
brass front bead atop barrel for quick target acquisition

Each shotgun comes with Improved Cylinder, Modified and Full choke tubes that allow shooters to tailor their shot patterns for specific hunting applications

Weatherby Introduces 20-Gauge Version of Three PA Pump Shotguns

Weatherby® now offers a 20-gauge version of three PA pump shotgun models: PA-08™ Synthetic, PA-08 TR and PA-459™ TR.

The versatile PA-08 Synthetic is built to be a reliable, easy-to-use workhorse for various bird hunting applications, from doves to turkeys. TR (Threat Response) shotguns are designed for home and personal defense.

“Our new 20-gauge pumps offer dependable performance with less felt recoil than 12-gauge models,” said company President Ed Weatherby. “They are lightweight and easy to operate-a great shotgun choice for beginners and experienced shooters alike.”

Available with either a 26- or 28-inch barrel, the PA-08 Synthetic features a black lightweight injection-molded stock. All metalwork is matte black to reduce glare. The barrel is chrome lined to withstand years of high-volume shooting, while lengthened forcing cones help reduce felt recoil. A vented top rib dissipates heat and helps facilitate target acquisition, as does the brass bead front sight. Three application-specific choke tubes (Improved Cylinder, Modified and Full) are included with each gun.

The 20-gauge PA-08 Synthetic weighs 6.5-7 pounds depending on barrel length. Magazine capacity is
5+1 (2 ¾-inch shells) or 4+1 (3-inch shells). Manufacturer’s suggested retail price: $399.

PA-08 TR features include the easy-to-use pump design and dual action bar system that have proven their dependability with the PA-08 sporting version. This shotgun also has matte black metalwork and a black lightweight injection-molded synthetic stock. The fixed cylinder bore barrel is 18.5 inches long and chrome lined. A bladed white dot front sight is readily visible when aiming, even in low-light conditions.

Weight of the 20-gauge PA-08 TR model is six pounds; overall length measures 39 inches with a 14-inch length of pull. Magazine capacity is 5+1 (2 3/4-inch shells). Manufacturer’s suggested retail price: $399.
Key features of the PA-459 TR include a short 13.5-inch length of pull and an ergonomic pistol grip-style buttstock with rubber-textured grip areas for snag-free shouldering. All metalwork has a matte black finish; the 18.5-inch chrome-lined barrel is fitted with an extended removable ported cylinder choke tube for application-specific patterning. The LPA-style ghost ring rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation.

The 20-gauge PA-459 TR weighs 5.75 pounds and measures 39 inches in overall length. Magazine capacity is 5+1 (2 ¾-inch shells) or 4+1 (3-inch shells). Manufacturer’s suggested retail price: $499.

Weatherby® Introduces Mark V Accumark RC (Range Certified) Rifle

Weatherby® features “Range Certified” accuracy assurance in its Mark V® rifle line with the new Accumark® RC, which comes with a SUB-MOA guarantee as well as a factory-shot target signed by company President Ed Weatherby.

Mark V Accumark RC rifles are tested at Weatherby’s modern indoor range. Range technicians mount premium optics, boresight and test fire each rifle to determine the most accurate load using the Oehler Research 83 Ballistic Imaging System. After testing, the rifle is cleaned and packed with the target signed by Ed Weatherby. Each rifle sports a special RC engraved floorplate.

“Our Range Certified program now includes the Mark V Accumark, one of our most popular rifles among hunters and shooters,” Ed Weatherby commented. “The Mark V Accumark RC is certainly one of the most accurate production rifles available today.”

All RC rifles are guaranteed to shoot SUB-MOA (a three-shot group of .99-inch or less) with specified Weatherby factory or premium ammunition.

The Mark V Accumark RC offers multiple accuracy-enhancing features, including a hand-laminated raised comb Monte Carlo composite stock with matte gel coat finish and spiderweb accents. It also features a button-rifled #3 contour stainless steel fluted barrel. The barrel, which comes in 24-, 26- and 28-inch lengths depending on caliber, is free floated and topped with a recessed target crown. A Pachmayr® Decelerator® pad on the buttstock helps reduce felt recoil.

A CNC-machined 6061 T-6 aluminum bedding plate provides a solid, stable platform for the barreled action. The trigger is factory tuned and fully adjustable.

The Mark V Accumark RC is available in 14 calibers: .240 Wby. Mag., .270 Win., .308 Win., .30-06 Springfield, .257 Wby. Mag., .270 Wby. Mag., 7mm Rem. Mag., 7mm Wby. Mag., .300 Win. Mag., .300 Wby. Mag., .30-378 Wby. Mag., .338-378 Wby. Mag., .340 Wby. Mag. and .338 Lapua. Additional calibers and left-hand models are available through the Weatherby Custom Shop.

Manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $2,400 for all calibers except for the .30-378 Wby. Mag., .338-378 Wby. Mag and .338 Lapua, which are $2,700. For more information, contact a local Weatherby dealer, call the company at (805) 227-2600 or visit www.weatherby.com.
