SWAROVSKI OPTIK EL Range Wins Field & Stream “Best of the Best” Award

Cranston, Rhode Island – SWAROVSKI OPTIK NORTH AMERICA, a subsidiary of the Austrian based company, announces that their EL Range finding Binocular has been selected as one of Field & Stream magazine’s “Best of the Best” for 2012. Given out annually, Field & Stream’s “Best of the Best” is awarded to the best new products in the hunting and shooting market, and is considered one of the industry’s top awards.

Each year, hundreds of new products and innovations are reviewed by the testers at Field & Stream magazine, and only the top performing items are granted the Best of the Best designation. This year’s awards were broken down into 11 different categories, such as binoculars, handguns, clothing, and riflescopes, with all categories sharing a few key attributes – inspiration, innovation, craftsmanship, and dedication to a job well done. The “Best of the Best” title is awarded to the product they determine to be best in its class, based on innovation, design, and dependability for its value. The testing process is very rigorous; and often referred to as “The Field & Stream Torture Tests”. After surviving the torture tests, winning products are ultimately selected based on significance of the innovation, quality of the design, and the value they bring to outdoorsmen.

Albert Wannenmacher, CEO of SWAROVSKI OPTIK NORTH AMERICA said, “To be chosen for the Field and Stream Best of the Best award is a wonderful recognition for our company. The overall concept of the EL Range combined with its unique features and comfort lets this product really standout and shine.”

The long awaited EL Range, designed on the EL binocular body, is extremely lightweight and ergonomic. Based on the EL Binocular platform, the EL Range also integrates a powerful laser with new SWARO-AIM technology. SWARO-AIM technology features an integrated gradometer to show the precise and correct shooting distance and angle. The EL Range also allows for read out in yards or meter and brightness levels. The new innovative EL Range will be featured in Field & Stream’s “Best of the Best” September 2012 issue.

Swarovski Optik Announces New 4W Reticle

Cranston, Rhode Island – SWAROVSKI OPTIK NORTH AMERICA announces a new reticle to their riflescope line. The 4W reticle is a wind compensating reticle that is combined with a Ballistic Turret (BT).

The new 4W is a wind compensating reticle, designed to be used in conjunction with the Ballistic Turret (BT) model riflescope. This allows the shooter, or hunter, to dial in the correct elevation needed for a shot with the Ballistic Turret (BT), and then be able to compensate for wind utilizing the vertical marks along the crosshair of the reticle. These marks are placed in 2 MOA (Minute of Angle) increments.

The riflescopes that will be available with the new BT – 4W reticle will be: Z3 4-12×50, Z5 3.5-18×44, and Z5 5-25×52.

Tom Hogan, Technical Product Specialist for SWAROVSKI OPTIK NORTH AMERICA says, “SWAROVSKI OPITK has now provided a way to compensate for wind with the extremely popular BT (Ballistic Turret). We have again responded to consumer input by delivering one of the most advanced, but easy to use rifle scope systems capable of compensating for both elevation and windage trajectories, especially at long range. This system will help the hunter to make a more accurate, ethical shot by taking the ‘Hold Over/Hold Off’ guesswork away.

To determine the correct wind compensation marks, there is a Ballistic Calculator featured on the SWAROVSKI OPTIK website (WWW.SWAROVSKIOPTIK.COM orWWW.SWAROVSKIOPTIK.COM/BT). It is very much dependent on wind speed and direction, in conjunction with the velocity and ballistic coefficient of the cartridge being used.

Cranston, Rhode Island – SWAROVSKI OPTIK announces the new EL 50mm binoculars with SWAROVISION technology specially developed for greater viewing comfort, especially for eyeglass wearers. Using a field flattener lens, which helps to create a true image, it is possible to produce diamond-bright image resolution right up to the very edge of the field of view ensuring the finest detail without any edge distortion.
