Streamlight® Marks 40 Years Of Making High Quality Lighting

EAGLEVILLE, PA, May 30, 2013 - Streamlight® Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting and weapon light/laser sighting devices, recently marked its 40th year of operation. Since it was founded in 1973, Streamlight has grown from a small company with a single product to an international provider of a broad range of high-performance lights for law enforcement, military, firefighting, industrial, automotive, and outdoor professionals.

A pioneer in the development of rechargeable flashlights, lanterns and LED lighting, the company is known for its expert engineering approach to creating lighting products that feature extraordinary brightness while also offering high value and durability.

“We are proud to have provided such reliable and durable lighting tools for our many customers, including first responders, industrial and automotive professionals, and outdoor enthusiasts, for 40 years,” said Streamlight President and CEO Ray Sharrah. “As technology has evolved, Streamlight has continually leveraged it to produce ever brighter, more feature-rich lights without sacrificing our exacting standards for quality and capability.”

Recently, Streamlight adapted new LED technology to create “High Lumen” flashlights for maximum illumination, delivering at least 500 lumens. The new lights are designed for flooding an area with light, such as when illuminating a dark alley, work area, or outdoor path. Made possible by a recent shift in LED manufacturing, the high lumen lights also feature Streamlight’s trademark long-reaching beam and extended run times.

Sharrah said that this new LED technology also has led to improvements in the company’s “Tradition” line of lights, designed for the broadest array of applications, and “High Performance” models, which deliver superior down-range lighting because of their increased candela.

Today, Streamlight offers a full line of flashlights, headlamps, weapons lighting, lanterns and accessories, which are sought after by military, law enforcement, fire service and emergency, automotive and industrial professionals worldwide. What began in 1973 as a small operation with several employees has grown into a 165,000 sq. ft. – manufacturing and office space in Eagleville, PA with more than 250 employees. The company holds over 110 U.S. and foreign patents.

Based in Eagleville, PA, Streamlight, Inc. is marking 40 years of making tough, durable, long-lasting flashlights designed to serve the specialized needs of professionals and consumers alike. Since 1973, the company has designed, manufactured and marketed high-performance flashlights, and today offers a broad array of lights, weapon light/laser sighting devices and vehicle solar charging devices for professional law enforcement, military, firefighting, industrial, automotive, and outdoor applications. Streamlight Upgrades Four ProTac Models

EAGLEVILLE, PA, May 15, 2013 – Streamlight® Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting and weapon light/laser sighting devices, has significantly upgraded the lumen light output of four lights from its popular ProTac® tactical series: the ProTac® 1L, ProTac ® 2L, ProTac® 1AA, and ProTac® 2AA. Combining compact size and C4® LED technology, the upgraded lights are among the most versatile personal carry lights available for users, ranging from law enforcement personnel to industrial technicians.

All four upgraded lights now feature Streamlight’s new TEN-TAP™ programming, which enables users to select among three programs: high/strobe/low (the factory default setting); high only; or low/high.

“Streamlight has increased the lumen output, run times, candela and beam distances on the high setting for these ProTac lights without compromising their compact size,” said Streamlight President and Chief Executive Officer Ray Sharrah. “We also have added flexibility with the TEN-TAP programming switch to suit their preference or operating needs.”

On high, the upgraded lights now feature a range of 70 to 260 lumens and run times of up to three hours; on low, run times range from 24 to 50 hours. On the strobe setting, the ProTac 2L runs for six hours, while the other three lights run for four hours.

The ProTac 1L and ProTac 2L use one or two 3 Volt CR123A lithium batteries, respectively, which have a shelf life of 10 years. The ProTac 1AA and the ProTac 2AA are powered by one and two AA alkaline batteries, respectively; the use of a lithium battery will extend the run time of the ProTac 1AA.

Each light features a C4 LED for extreme brightness. A multi-function, push-button tactical tail switch allows for one-handed operation of the lights’ momentary, variable intensity, and strobe modes.

Similar to other models in the ProTac series, these lights are thin and easy to carry, weighing between 2 and 3.4 ounces with batteries, and measuring between 3.43 and 6.14 inches.

With bodies fabricated from machined aircraft aluminum with an anodized finish, the lights also feature an anti-roll face cap and a glass lens that is O-ring sealed. All four lights are IPX7 rated for waterproof operation to one meter for 30 minutes, and are two-meter impact resistance tested. Each includes a removable pocket clip and holster.

The ProTac 1AA, ProTac 2AA, ProTac 1L, and ProTac 2L have MSRPs of $68.00, $70.00, $72.00 and $80.00, respectively, and include Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Streamlight Debuts High Lumen Lights

EAGLEVILLE, PA, January 15, 2013 – Streamlight® Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting and weapon light/laser sighting devices, debuted its growing line of High Lumen (HL) flashlight models at Booth 12562 at the National Shooting Sport Foundation’s 2013 SHOT Show, January 15-18, in Las Vegas. The new lights use state-of-the-art C4® LED technology to provide law enforcement, tactical, outdoor and other users with extreme brightness, delivering up to 640 lumens.

The new lights include the rechargeable Stinger® LED HL™, Stinger DS® LED HL™, and Strion® LED HL™, as well as two gun-mounted models, the TLR-1® HL™, and the TLR-2® HL™.

“With their extraordinary lumen light output, these new HL lights are designed for flooding an area with light, such as when illuminating a dark alley, vehicle, or outdoor path, while still delivering good levels of candela peak beam intensity, and regulated run time,” said Streamlight President and CEO Ray Sharrah.

Sharrah added that the new lights were made possible by a recent technology shift in LEDs enabling Streamlight to produce products with high lumens that still meet the company’s exacting standards for quality and capability. “While our new HL lights provide maximum illumination, with at least 500 lumens, it was important to us that we designed them in such a way that they continue to offer a strong focused beam and strong levels of regulated run time,” he explained.

The new HL lights join Streamlight’s existing “Tradition” lights, designed to provide a strong balance between lumens and candela, and its “High Performance” (HP) series of flashlights, which feature the same or slightly more lumens than those in the Tradition line but with more candela. While users may be familiar with models in both series, Streamlight has introduced new technology to increase each light’s performance, Sharrah said.

Lights in the Tradition line are designed for the broadest array of applications, such as a duty light in law enforcement or for day-to-day use, and offer the longest regulated run times.

HP models provide similar or slightly higher lumens than those in the Tradition line but deliver superior long-range lighting because of the increased candela. They are designed for applications downrange, such as during search and rescue operations or when lighting up a dark trail.

All the new HL lights come with Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty. The MSRPs for the new HL lights range from $234.00 to $523.00. For more information about Streamlight’s HL products, as well as its Tradition and HP lights, visit www.streamlight.com.
