Gray’s Sporting Journal Selects the Leica Trinovid 8×42 as Gray’s Best Winner

After extensive field testing by the Gray’s Sporting Journal staff, the Leica Trinovid 8×42 binoculars has received the 2012 Gray’s Best Award for the Shooting category.

Each year, Grays Sporting Journal editors test hundreds of products in a variety of categories, and each year, a few stand out among the crowd.

According to James Babb, editor of Gray’s Sporting Journal, “A Grays Best winner is a product that tries a little harder, does something a little better; is somehow just more satisfying than similar products.”

Leica Sport Optics team is honored to receive this prestigious award.

“Being recognized by such an authoritative voice in the community is always an extraordinary honor,” Jeff Bouton, Leica Sport Optics marketing manager, says. “This is a fantastic holiday treat and a great way to kick off what will undoubtedly be a banner year for Leica!”

The Trinovid 8×42 binoculars will be featured in Gray’s annual Expedition & Guides 2013 issue and Leica will receive a plaque honoring the Trinovid’s selection.

Of the new Trinovid, Terry Weiland, Gray’s Sporting Journal editor for the Shooting category, writes, “It’s not just a product reintroduction; it’s a revival with improvements made possible by advances in technology.”

The premium entry level Leica Trinovid 8×42 model features the same body and frame as the Leica Ultravid, but with a few cost-saving features.

Features include stainless-steel center hinge, large eye cups with four stops and a fantastic light-weight design for easy use. The Roof prism system features P40 phase correction coating and the HLS™ HighLux system for fascinating viewing impressions. You’ll find no plastic parts on Trinovid binoculars because even though the Trinovids are affordable, the quality is top-rate.
