Bushnell Outdoors to Launch PowerSync Portable Power Line

Overland Park, Kan. - Bushnell Outdoor Products, an industry-leader in high performance sports optics and outdoor accessories for more than 60 years, is launching a new portable power product line to give outdoor enthusiasts the ability to power their adventures and recharge on the go. Available in January 2013, the Bushnell PowerSyncTM line will include both solar and battery-powered portable charging devices.

Designed for the outdoor adventurer, each PowerSync product is lightweight and compact, yet durably designed for long-term reliability and performance. With both solar and battery-powered products, the PowerSync line possesses rapid charge capabilities, enabling users to charge devices such as MP3 players, smart phones, cameras and tablets in as little as two hours.

The PowerSync solar line includes three product options, and each is constructed with patented solar technology featuring amorphous silicon film. Unlike monocrystalline or polycrystalline solar technologies, the amorphous film is extremely lightweight, pliable and durable. Each solar cell operates independently, so damage to one cell won’t interrupt the performance of the device. Bushnell Introduces a Personal GPS Device That Provides
Hunters with Vital Information in the Field

Overland Park, Kan. – Bushnell Outdoor Products, an industry-leader in high performance sports optics for more than 60 years, has introduced a new personal GPS device designed to make hunters more effective in the field. In addition to the features that have made the BackTrack TM a consumer favorite, the new HuntTrackTM features solunar tables, barometric data and predictive animal activity.

With five available icons and the ability to use up to 20 additional numeric waypoints, the HuntTrack allows users to mark up to 25 waypoints while providing simple distance and direction to each location. This makes marking and locating deer stands, trail cameras or downed game quick and easy. In addition to a self-calibrating digital compass, the device provides time, temperature, altitude, and latitude/longitude coordinates.

The HuntTrack also provides vital information hunters need, including Hunter’s Edge solunar tables, barometric data and predictive animal activity. The solunar tables provide hunters with the rise and set of the sun and moon as well as the current moon phase. In addition to temperature, the device provides barometric pressure, an icon displaying current weather conditions and an emergency weather indicator. This data along with the geographic location is used in combination to provide 24 hours of predictive animal activity for the preceding and subsequent 12 hours.

The new device has a “breadcrumbs” feature that allows users to record the exact route taken and retrace the route at any time. With the free HuntTrack software application, hunters can review predictive animal activity for any location up to 365 days away and use the topographic map to mark waypoints and upload them to the device.

Following the trip, up to 48 hours of data can be uploaded to the HuntTrack application, which overlays saved routes on a topographic map and allows users to quickly evaluate the route or save it for future use. In addition to trip routes, the application provides data from each trip including distance traveled, average speed, elevation and temperature.

With the peace of mind that comes from knowing you can always find your way back and now the information to be a more knowledgeable hunter, the Bushnell HuntTrack makes the next hunting adventure safer and more enjoyable. Organization’s support of military family and relationship with country music star Craig Morgan to be highlighted from May 23-28

OWASSO, Okla. – CNN.com is featuring Folds of Honor Foundation in its special “Impact Your World” section (www.cnn.com/impact) from May 23-28, 2012. The segment will feature Folds of Honor’s scholarship program for military programs as well as the special relationship between the organization and country music star Craig Morgan.

Founded in 2007 by Major Dan Rooney, Folds of Honor provides educational assistance to the spouses and children of service members disabled or killed during U.S. military service. The segment will feature Kara Gardner, a scholarship recipient whose husband Sergeant Freeman Gardner was killed in action in Iraq in 2007. Thanks to her scholarship from Folds of Honor, she recently graduated from Clark University in Atlanta.

“We are thrilled that CNN is doing a segment on Folds of Honor not because of the recognition we receive, but for the spotlight it shines on this ongoing need in our country,” said Rooney. “We’ve got to take care of the families of those who have given it all for the rest of us.”

Country music singer Craig Morgan recently wrote and dedicated a song “What Matters Most” to benefit Folds of Honor. Morgan is a 10-year veteran of the U.S. Army.

“I’m honored to be part of the Folds of Honor family and to help support the spouses and children of our military heroes,” shares Morgan.

Folds of Honor Foundation was founded in May 2007 by Major Dan Rooney, a former F-16 Fighter Pilot in the Oklahoma Air National Guard, PGA Professional, and USGA member. A decorated military pilot in the Oklahoma Air National Guard, Major Rooney has served three combat tours in Iraq. It was after his second tour, while a passenger on a commercial flight, that Major Rooney witnessed an event that would profoundly change his life. As the plane landed, the pilot announced, “Ladies and gentlemen, we have an American hero on board – Corporal Brock Bucklin. And his twin brother, Corporal Brad Bucklin, is accompanying him home from Iraq. As a sign of respect, please remain seated while Corporal Bucklin’s family receives him in his final homecoming.” Major Rooney watched through the window of the plane as the flag-draped casket was lowered. He saw a family waiting for Brock, and a little four-year old boy waiting for his father. This tragic homecoming inspired Major Rooney to create the Folds of Honor Foundation.
