New Bowhunter Chuck Adams Edition Binocular
From Bushnell Helps Archers Spot More Game

Overland Park, Kan. — When you hear the name Chuck Adams you may remember he was the first archer to take all 27 species of North American big game and complete the Super Slam, or that he has bagged more than 110 Pope & Young record-book trophies or that he holds more than 180 Safari Club International records. When we hear Chuck’s name, we think legend, which is why Bushnell – a leader in sports optics for more than 60 years – partnered with the legend himself to develop the 10x 42mm Bowhunter Chuck Adams Edition Binocular.

With 10 power magnification and an extra-wide field of view – 341 feet of view at 1000 yards – this special edition binocular gives bow hunters enhanced spotting capabilities and high quality optical performance. The new Chuck Adams edition binocular features fully multi-coated optics and premium BAK-4 roof prisms. To improve an already brilliant optical experience, Bushnell added its exclusive PC-3 phase corrective coating to produce ultra-bright images and edge-to-edge clarity from dawn to dusk.

As hunters can attest, the one element you can never predict during hunting season is the weather. Designed with a lightweight composite chassis and a sure-grip rubber armor wrapped in Advantage Max-1 camouflage, this binocular is 100 percent waterproof and fogproof – built to perform in rain or shine. With twist-up eyecups and a lockable center focus knob, the Chuck Adams edition binocular provides long eye relief and allows hunters to make quick adjustments for precise focusing. The Bowhunter Chuck Adams Edition binocular includes a premium carry case, neckstrap and microfiber lens cloth, and is available for about $249.99 retail.

Overland Park, Kan. — In 2010, Bushnell introduced the Fusion 1600 ARC laser range finding binoculars. The product was an instant hit with consumers who wanted quality optics with the latest in laser range finding technology, and was later named Optic of the Year in the 2011 NRA Golden Bullseye Awards, presented by American Rifleman Magazine.

In 2011, Bushnell has added a 12x 50mm model for extended-range glassing. The Fusion features BAK-4 roof prisms, a built-in battery life indicator, twist-up eyecups, and fully multi-coated optics. Its fully waterproof design meets IPX7 waterproof specifications, and the patented RainGuard® HD coating beads up moisture and prevents fogging, guaranteeing a clear view on unclear days.

The built in laser rangefinder measures distances from 10-1,600 yards, with +/- one-yard accuracy. It features ARC (Angle Range Compensating) technology, which calculates the angle to the target – from -90 to +90 degrees – and provides the “hold over” range for rifle shooters and the true horizontal distance for bow hunters. The Fusion offers five different modes of operation, including the Brush, BullsEye and Scan viewing modes and Bow and Rifle shooting modes.

An additional key feature is the Variable Sight-In Distance capability, also known as VSI™. In rifle mode, 100, 150, 200 and 300 yard sight-in distances are available to accommodate different shooting styles and preferences. Users can also choose between inches and MOA for holdover on longer shots.

Bushnell Adds Two Models To The Legend Ultra·HD Binocular Line

Legend Ultra HD 8×36 Camo

Legend Ultra HD 10×36 Black

Overland Park, KS — The Legend Ultra·HD binoculars have quickly become a favorite of serious outdoorsmen since their introduction in 2009. The combination of high quality optics and premium ED Prime Glass with the new Ultra Wide Band Custom Coating lens technology provides the ultimate in high definition performance.

Two new mid-size roof prism models have been introduced for 2010 — the Legend Ultra·HD 8x36mm and 10x36mm. Their anti-reflective Ultra Wide Custom Coating delivers the best available light not only during the peak of the day, but also at dusk and dawn when optics matter most. Premium ED (Extra Low Dispersion) glass delivers optimal color performance and edge-to-edge sharpness.

Compared to similarly price optics, Legend Ultra·HD binoculars deliver a wider field of view and are also more comfortable to use. Longer eye relief means less eye strain. The new Legend Ultra·HD binoculars are built on a lightweight, durable magnesium chassis. As a bonus they come with a deluxe binocular harness with pre-attached neckstrap lugs that distributes the weight of the binoculars more evenly across your back.

The new mid-size Legend Ultra·HD binoculars provide all weather performance with their 100 percent waterproof construction and new RainGuard® HD high-density permanent coating, which scatters less light by minimizing or eliminating moisture on the lens surface.

The 8×36 version comes in RealTree AP camouflage and the 10×36 model in black. Both come complete with a premium carrying case, neck strap and custom binocular harness. Suggested retail prices are: 8×36 – $249.99 and 10×36 – $249.99. They are available at Bushnell dealers nationwide.

Bushnell Binoculars

bushnellSam looked through the large lenses of the Bushnell Elite binoculars that he had borrowed from his science teacher. The horizon and the details sprang up to him with magnificent clarity, brightness and edge-to edge contrast and high definition imagery. He figured that if his parents would drag him to this star party, he might as well have his own pair. Dad would never share his Legend binoculars. He was always saying that they were the true leader in light transmission all across the visible light spectrum. They were his pride and joy. And Mom’s Spectators might be powerful and all, with an extra-wide field of view and a Perma Focus design that never needs adjustments, but they were too dainty. She kept them in her pocket when she wasn’t using them.

The astronomy club had set up on the edge of the cliff of Grindstone creek, a popular place for rock climbing and it offered an amazing view of the southern sky. Many had telescopes, but he saw  that several members had binoculars around their necks, including the Bowhunter, the Fusion 1600 ARC rangefinding binocular and a Legacy WP. He started scanning the skies with his Elite, amazed at how many stars he could see through the wide field of view, and wondering how long this star party would last. He was already cold.

A kid about ten sat on the dusty grass beside him. “Hi,” he said. “My name’s Dan. Look at these binoculars.” He shoved them in his face. Dan had a good pair of astronomy binoculars, a Stableview. They would reduce his hand tremors.  “I’m going to find an alien tonight.” Dan proceeded to lie back on the grass and stare into the sky, his binoculars pressed against his face while he kept up a steady chatter. Sam wished he would shut up.

“Oh brother!” Dan sat up and grabbed Sam’s arm. “Look! A spaceship! I just saw it appear out of nowhere!” He pointed to a bright light that traveled in a straight line across the sky. As they boys watched it, the  light just went out. “Oh man,” Dan screamed. “A UFO!”

“Calm down,” Sam said. “You saw a satellite. It went behind the Earth’s shadow.”

“Oh.” Dan smiled. “Well, I’ll keep looking. Dad always says to never give up and to always take care of your Natureview binoculars.”  He leaned back again and oohed, pointing into the sky. “Look at all those stars.”

Sam followed Dan’s gaze with his own binoculars. Might as well talk to Dan, it would make the time pass. “You’re looking at the Pleiades,” he said. “Pretty amazing through the binoculars, huh?”

Before Dan could respond, a girl about his own age sat down next to them. She pulled out her pair of binoculars, a pair of Trophy XLT, the ultimate in hunting binoculars, and flipped up the lens covers. “I heard you talking about the Pleiades,” she said, and gazed at them. “Pretty neat. But can you see the rings of Saturn with your binoculars?”

Dan sat up. “Really? You can see them?”  She showed Dan how to find Saturn, and then turned to Sam. “Did you guys know that the second star in the handle of the Big Dipper is actually a binary?” She pointed to the middle of the handle. Dan put his binoculars to his eyes and found the asterism above their heads. “Oh brother! I see them!” He grinned. “This star party is a lot more fun than I thought it’d be.”

Sam looked at his two new friends and realized that he wasn’t so cold anymore. “Bet you can’t find the Orion Nebula,” he challenged.  Bushnell binoculars to their eyes, the universe unraveled its mysteries to them.
