Pennsylvania based Streamlight, Inc. recently unveiled a new version of their popular Clipmate series with an innovative new feature not typically found in other pocket sized lights. The Clipmate USB takes a new approach to rechargeable flashlights with an integrated USB cord that serves as the primary method of charging. This integrated USB cord prevents any tedious search for an outlet when you’re away from home, and there is no extra hardware to keep track of like cords or charging bases. The new Clipmate series will make on the go charging a snap via your laptop, USB compatible lantern, or even a USB car charger, and the device fully recharges in 2.5 hours. What if there is no USB around? No sweat, the Clipmate also comes with a traditional AC charger if you need a backup plan.
True to it’s name, the Clipmate USB features a unbreakable pocket clip that attaches to your shirt, pack, or other adjacent surfaces, and since the device only weighs 1.9oz, you’ll hardly notice it is there. Similar to Streamlight’s popular Stylus Pro Reach series, the Clipmate also sports an adjustable polyethylene-coated extension cable so you can direct light to where you need it the most without needing to move the base. The Clipmate USB offers both white and red LED settings, and the device can run on high power white LED for 3.5 hours or high power red LED for 16 hours.
The Clipmate USB is sure to be a favorite with law enforcement and security personnel, but we see the device best used around the campsite or on the job as a excellent alternative to a headlamp. Check out all the great Streamlight products right now at Webyshops.com.
BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA – We’ve all heard the Boy Scout motto “Be Prepared,” and nothing could be more appropriate in helping prepare hunters with better planning than having essential information in the palm of their hand with HuntMate or HuntMatePro iPhone apps.
No matter where in the world they’re at hunters with iPhones (and soon other “smartphones” listed below), can take advantage of the latest advancements in technology they offer for use all at a onetime charge of $9.99 for HuntMate or $19.99 for HuntMatePro. Each packs an incredible array of data into an easy-to-use handheld iPhone application – or “app” in tech-speak — designed specifically to help hunters in the field.
Developed by Sammy Lee, an outdoor industry veteran of over 30 years, the HuntMate apps are finding popularity worldwide since going “live,” following the success of Lee’s fishing apps called FishMate, FishMatePro and FirstMate all launched in the spring of 2010.
“Every hunter knows to increase their odds of taking that trophy, they need to be in the woods or fields when game are most active,” said Lee. “HuntMate and HuntMatePro show you the best “Hunting Times” for the day based on the Solunar Times. And it works.”
Features and benefits are plenty. A touch of the numerous screens include the “Hunting Times” page with the times for moonrise and moonset, sunrise and sunset, plus the major and minor feeding times and the current moon phase. The Weather page has the current weather conditions and long range forecast for the next six days at their immediate location or worldwide for optimal planning. There’s also a “Trophies” page to store photos to send to their buddies and record pertinent information for future trips.
“For even more offerings,” said Lee, “the advanced HuntMatePro includes color weather radar with a near 100 mile range updated every 15 minutes; an extended forecast prepared for your current location or anywhere else including temperature, humidity, heat index, barometric pressure, wind speed and direction. Another touch of the screen loads you up with hunting tips and delicious game recipes from the most informed sources in the industry, plus Geo-Tracking and GPS location coordinates data.
“When a hunter uploads a photo to the Trophies page, on HuntMatePro, immediately after taking their game, they’ll find an ‘i’ on the Google Map. When the ‘i’ is touched, the Google Map opens up and will take the hunter from anywhere in the world directly back to the exact spot where the photo was taken and posted. Geo-Tracking helps get the hunter back to their ‘Secret Spot’!
“Both hunting apps give you all the information you need to plan a trip anywhere in the world,” said Lee, “and we plan to have more user friendly and essential updates along the way.”
Each app can be purchased online at Apple’s iTunes Store in the Apps section. They require either an iPod Touch, iPad, iPhone OS 3.0 or higher and iTunes. A version for other smartphones such Blackberrys and Droids will be ready for download in the near future.
HuntMate and HuntMatePro along with FirstMate, FishMate and FishMatePro are designed by Sammy Lee Enterprises, Inc. For more information go to: www.HuntMateapp.com or call 205-980-4486.
