Kimber Launches Micro-Compact 9mm Pistol

Yonkers, New York, January 18, 2011 – One of the most significant firearm introductions in a generation, the all-new Solo 9mm delivers unequaled Kimber quality, performance and dependability in a micro-compact pistol. Shipments of Solo pistols to nearly 2,000 Kimber Master Dealers across America have already begun.

Weighing just 17 ounces and only 5.5 inches long, Solo pistols are easy to carry. Near-perfect ergonomics borrowed from 1911 pistols, great trigger and 3-dot sights make them easy to shoot accurately. Standard Solo features include stainless steel slide and barrel, machined aluminum frame, ambidextrous thumb safety, removable grips and ambidextrous magazine release button.

The Solo trigger is a single action striker-fired design with an even and smooth pull that breaks clean at 7 pounds. Frame and slide edges are rounded and blended so they do not snag on clothing or holsters. Slide serrations are deep for a secure grip and the magazine well is beveled for quick and positive loading. Solo sights are steel and securely mounted in dovetails machined into the slide for additional durability.

Two models are currently offered, differing only in color of the finish. The SoloTM Carry frame and small parts are matte black, while the SoloTM Carry Stainless frame and small parts are satin silver. All Solo frames wear KimPro II, a premium finish that is both self-lubricating and extremely resistant to salt and the elements. Magazine capacity is 6 rounds and an extended 8-round magazine will soon be available.

Solo pistols establish a new, high standard of small pistol dependability and performance. Their suggested retail price is just $725.

Weatherby® Offers New PA-08 Field/Slug Combo

With the two interchangeable barrels of Weatherby’s® new PA-08 Field/Slug Combo pump shotgun, hunters can pursue both whitetail deer in the hardwoods and pheasants in the CRP.

The PA-08 Combo comes in 12 gauge with a 24-inch rifled barrel for slug ammunition and a 28-inch field barrel for birdshot shells. Regardless of application, the PA-08 is designed to provide hunters with a commonly affordable gun that can be counted on for years of high-volume shooting.

“The quality, performance and value of our PA-08 Synthetic are now available in this new Field/Slug Combo gun,” said Brad Ruddell, Weatherby’s vice president of sales and marketing. “Add the versatility of interchangeable barrels and you have a true workhorse for all seasons.”

The eight-groove rifled barrel has a 1-28″ twist rate, with a bore diameter of .718 and groove diameter of .728. It comes with a Weaver-compatible cantilever scope mount base for big game hunters who utilize optics.

The 28-inch field barrel has chrome lining to withstand years of high-volume shooting. Lengthened forcing cones help reduce felt recoil. A vented top rib dissipates heat and helps facilitate target acquisition, as does the brass bead front sight.

Three application-specific choke tubes (Improved Cylinder, Modified and Full) come with the field barrel. The screw-in Integral Multi-Choke System is compatible with the Briley® thread pattern and allows bird hunters and target shooters to tailor their shot patterns according to need. Other highlights of the PA-08 Field/Slug Combo include a lightweight and durable black injection- molded synthetic stock. All metalwork is matte black to reduce glare. Constructed of aircraft-grade

aluminum alloys to reduce overall weight without compromising strength, the CNC-machined receiver is designed to improve the balance of the shotgun for better handling. A chrome-plated bolt helps prevent the action from binding and eases operation. The drop-out trigger system can be quickly removed for easy cleaning and reassembled. The PA-08 Field/Slug Combo has a three-inch chamber and weighs approximately 6.75 pounds. Manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $467.

Benelli’s new Super Vinci is the evolution of the revolution

ACCOKEEK, MD – Benelli’s revolutionary Vinci just got “supersized.” The brand new and much anticipated Super Vinci is designed to handle 3½-inch Magnum loads. At the heart of the Super Vinci is the In-Line Inertia Driven® system, which has been designed to reliably chamber light 2¾-inch loads up through the most powerful 3½-inch Magnums.

The Super Vinci features Practical Speed Performance™ (PSP). This is the practical “speed” shooters seek which becomes a matter of how fast you can shoulder the gun . . . acquire the target . . . shoot . . . and recover from the recoil to prepare for the next shot.

Precise instruments developed by Benelli measure and create graphs that illustrate the total recoil of the Super Vinci against its competitors. Other guns have peak recoil that’s as much as 15 percent greater than the Super Vinci’s. But more significantly, the total felt-recoil of the competitors’ guns is as much as 22 percent more. Combine the In-Line Inertia Driven® action with superior balance, light weight, reduced recoil and minimal muzzle climb and the shooter experiences the real timeline of performance speed where the Super Vinci has no equal.

Like the original Vinci, the superbly balanced Super Vinci embodies all the features that make this latest Benelli semi-auto the most reliable, softest kicking, fastest shooting, lightweight 3½-inch Magnum shotgun in the world. Its unique modular design makes it the easiest shotgun in the world to assemble and disassemble for cleaning, maintenance, storage and transportation.

“We’re very pleased to add the Vinci’s revolutionary design concept to the Super Vinci,” said Stephen McKelvain, VP Benelli USA Marketing & Communications. “This logical next step has been anticipated from the moment the original Vinci was first introduced. The Super Black Eagle was the world’s original 3½-inch Magnum, and the Super Vinci is now the ultimate 3½-inch Magnum.”

Stoeger Introduces Inertia-Driven® 3½-inch Magnum Semi-Auto

ACCOKEEK, MD — Announcing the new Stoeger M3500 3½-inch, 12-gauge, semi-automatic shotgun, the latest addition to Stoeger’s line of quality, affordable shotguns for hunters and shooters. Versatility, value and solid reliability make the M3500 the perfect choice for waterfowl, wild turkey or upland game birds. The M3500 handles a full range of loads, from 2¾-inch up to the potent 3½-inch Magnum without adjustment. For reliability and performance, no other 3½-inch semi-auto in its price range compares.

At the heart of the Stoeger M3500 is the proven Inertia Driven® operating system; simple and efficient with only three moving parts in the bolt for lightning-fast, reliable operation. Unlike older gas-system guns, the M3500′s Inertia Driven® action is contained primarily within the receiver; giving the Stoeger M3500 a better more centered balance and swing. With no propellant gas venting into the action, the M3500 stays cleaner longer.

Stoeger’s M3500 comes with either a 24-, 26- or 28-inch barrel, fitted with a ventilated, stepped rib and fiber-optic front sight for quick target acquisition, even under low-light hunting conditions. The alloy receiver is drilled and tapped and includes a Weaver-style scope base. All M3500′s come supplied with five choke tubes (Extra-full turkey, Full, Modified, Improved-Cylinder, and Cylinder), shim kit for drop and cast adjustment, and a threaded steel recoil reducer that can be installed in the buttstock to help manage felt recoil from heavy Magnum loads. “The new Model M3500, which is based on the rock-solid Inertia Driven® operating system, is affordable and versatile.” said Stephen McKelvain, Benelli’s VP of Marketing & Communications. “I’m sure hunters will be delighted with the performance and the price, of the latest addition to the Stoeger lineup.”

Weatherby® Guarantees SUB-MOA With New Vanguard® S2 Rifles

In recent years, accuracy-avid hunters and shooters have made Vanguard® rifles the top seller in Weatherby’s firearms line. Weatherby now takes the performance of Vanguard to an even higher level with the new Series 2 (S2), which is guaranteed to shoot SUB-MOA (a three-shot group of .99-inch or less) with factory or premium ammunition.

Scheduled for a Spring 2011 introduction in blued and stainless versions, the Vanguard S2 rifle features a new two-stage Match Quality Target Trigger. The trigger has an auxiliary sear for a “creep free” consistent let-off and pre-set sear engagement at .008-.012. It is adjustable for weight of pull down to 2.5 pounds.

“Our new S2 incorporates the most significant changes to Vanguard rifles since they were first introduced in the early 1970s,” said company President Ed Weatherby. “An outstanding new trigger, a more current look and a written SUB-MOA accuracy guarantee make the S2 a tremendous value, with all the flat-shooting, hard-hitting performance expected of a Weatherby.”

The Vanguard S2 sports a new Griptonite™ stock with the traditional Weatherby profile that allows quick eye-to-scope alignment and fast target acquisition. Constructed of modern materials, the stock has non-slip panels and a right-side palm swell for improved handling and control. Also new is the metalwork’s matte bead blast finish on both the blued and stainless versions.

Other added features include a 3-position safety, and a trigger housing constructed from aluminum alloy to reduce weight. The Vanguard S2 has a 24-inch barrel and weighs approximately 7.25 pounds. Like all Vanguard rifles, the S2 is based on the legendary Mark V® action. The Vanguard action has a one- piece machined bolt, fully enclosed bolt sleeve and three rings of steel surrounding the casehead for an extra measure of strength and structural integrity.
