Buck Knives Adds Buck/Hood Hoodlum Survival Knife

POST FALLS, IDAHO– The addition of respected survival authority Ron Hood to their Pro Staff has made it possible for Buck to add the Model 060 Buck/Hood Hoodlum to their growing role in the survival field. It’s the ultimate survival knife; a knife that can do anything you need to do, no matter how large or small the task.

Hood, with more than 20 years of teaching accredited college courses in survival skills, devoted years to developing, field testing and perfecting the Hoodlum. Now his design and Buck’s quality standards are joined in this production model. It’s light enough to carry in a sheath (14.6 oz.) yet heavy-duty enough for any task in the wilderness.

Overall, it’s 15-1/2″ long, with a full 10″ blade, made of 5160 spring steel, large enough and tough enough for chopping wood, yet it has a large choil for control in detailed uses. This versatile tool also has a groove in the blade backbone for everything from scoring bone and bending wire to removing pots from the campfire.

The Micarta® handle has an integrated hammer and lanyard hole in the butt-end, and has a Shock Mitigation System (SMS) to alleviate shock and wasted energy, even in the most demanding uses. The handle also can be removed to create a spear by lashing a branch to the tang. The Hoodlum comes with a M.O.L.L.E.-compatible, heavy-duty black nylon sheath with a front storage pouch. MSRP is $230.
