Streamlight Adds High Lumen Models to Stinger and Strion LED Families

EAGLEVILLE, PA – Streamlight® Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting and weapon light/laser sighting devices, added new High Lumen (HL) models to its popular Stinger® LED and Strion® LED series of lights. The new Stinger® LED HL™, the Stinger DS® LED HL™ and the Strion® LED HL™ use state-of-the-art C4® LED technology to provide law enforcement, tactical, outdoor and other users with extreme brightness, delivering up to 640 lumens.

“Like our other High Lumen products, these powerful new lights are designed to give everyone from officers on the beat to outdoor enthusiasts full awareness of their surrounding environment when operating under darkened conditions,” said Streamlight Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Michael F. Dineen. “With a wide beam pattern similar to a flood light, they are ideal for illuminating an entire vehicle during a traffic stop, lighting a campsite or clearing a room, for example. They also are compact and easy to carry.”

All of the new models provide three microprocessor-controlled variable intensity modes. The Stinger LED HL and the Stinger DS LED HL deliver a blinding 640 lumens on high, 340 lumens on medium and 170 lumens on the low setting. On the high setting, the new lights provide 22,000 candela peak beam intensity and a beam distance of 297 meters, with a run time of 1 hour and 15 minutes; on the low setting, the lights provide four hours of run time.

The Strion LED HL delivers 500 lumens on high, 250 lumens on medium and 125 lumens on low. It offers 10,000 candela peak beam intensity on the high setting over a distance of 200 meters, with a run time of one hour. The light provides 3 hours and 30 minutes of run time on low.

Each light is fabricated from 6000 series machined aircraft aluminum with an anodized finish. The DS model of the Stinger LED includes a second, multi-function, push-button tactical tail switch for full-feature control, independent of the other switch.

The Stinger LED HL and the Stinger DS LED HL are powered by a 3-cell, 3.6 Volt Ni-MH sub-C battery, while the Strion LED HL uses a 3.75 volt, 2000mAh minimum lithium ion battery with an on-board safety control circuit; both batteries are rechargeable up to 1,000 times. All three new lights fit existing model chargers. The Stinger LED HL and Stinger DS LED HL are impact resistance-tested to 1 meter and the Strion LED HL is impact resistance-tested to 2 meters. Each light also is IPX4 rated for water-resistant operation.

Available in black, the Stinger LED HL and the Stinger DS LED HL have MSRPs of $234.60 and $252.20, respectively. The MSRP for the Strion LED HL is $259.23. Each includes Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Streamlight Launches Night Com UV

EAGLEVILLE, PA, February 8, 2012 – Streamlight® Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-performance flashlights, has launched the compact Night Com® UV flashlight, which features six UV LEDs to provide ultraviolet light for a variety of detection purposes. The versatile new light also provides a white LED for general and distance use.

Offering three separate lighting modes, the lithium battery-powered Night Com UV features a white C4® LED, and a total of six UV LEDs, including three 365 nanometer and three 390 nanometer UV LEDs.

“The Night Com UV is specially designed for professionals, such as police and security officers, automotive technicians and HVAC repairmen, who rely on ultraviolet light for detecting fraudulent documents, checking driver’s licenses, or for engine or HVAC leak detection,” said Streamlight President and Chief Executive Officer Ray Sharrah. “The light also is equipped with a powerful white LED for general purpose and distance use.”

A mode-selection switch lets users easily choose the desired lighting mode, including a high- or low-power white LED setting, or the UV LED setting. The light also features a “safety” mode that ensures the light cannot be turned on by mistake during transport.

The light’s C4 LED has a textured reflector that provides a widespread beam, along with a sharp hotspot for distance use. It boasts a 50,000-hour lifetime, and offers 115 lumens and 4,200 candela peak beam intensity on the high setting, and 50 lumens and 1,600 candela on the low setting. On the UV setting, the combined six UV LEDs provide 24 mW measured system output and feature a 100,000 hour lifetime.

On high, the light provides 4.25 continuous hours of run time. On the low setting, the Night Com UV runs for 13.5 continuous hours, and on the UV setting, for 10 continuous hours.

Powered by the two included CR123A lithium batteries, the Night Com UV weighs only 5.44 ounces, measures just 5.40 inches in length and features an unbreakable polycarbonate lens. The flashlight also features a casing of machined aluminum with a matte black anodized finish and a non-slip knurled grip. The light’s push-button tailcap switch provides for Momentary On and Hard Click On and Off operation.

The Night Com UV is IPX4-rated for water-resistant operation and is impact resistance-tested to one meter. All openings are o-ring sealed. It has an MSRP of $90.00. The light comes with a high-strength wrist lanyard and Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Streamlight® Launches SL-20L™ and SL-20LP™ Flashlights

EAGLEVILLE, PA – January 17, 2012 - Streamlight® Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting equipment, today introduced the SL-20L™ and SL-20LP™ rechargeable flashlights. The new lights are among the most powerful rechargeable handheld duty lights the company offers for law enforcement professionals and others who require extremely bright light in work environments.

Both of the new full-sized, professional grade lights use a C4® LED to deliver up to 350 lumens measured system output, and 60,000 candela peak beam intensity for long- range beam distance. The lights also feature a deep-dish parabolic reflector, which optimizes peripheral illumination while providing a tight, focused beam.

“These are incredibly powerful lights for law enforcement and other personnel in the field, offering both the power and durability first responders need while on patrol,” said Streamlight President and Chief Executive Officer Ray Sharrah. “Not only do they provide the latest in LED technology, but they also are fully rechargeable, resulting in among the lowest operating costs of any full-sized flashlight on the market.”

Each of the lights offers three microprocessor-controlled, variable intensity modes, as well as a strobe setting. On the high setting, the lights deliver 350 lumens and two hours of continuous run time. On the medium setting, they provide 160 lumens and four hours of run time, and on low, they offer 10 lumens and 50 hours of run time. The run time for strobe mode is four hours for each. The C4 LED is impervious to shock and has a 50,000 hour lifetime.

The SL-20L and SL-20LP lights weigh 1.7 and 1.3 pounds, and measure 13.1 and 13.2 inches in length, respectively. The SL-20L is constructed from machined aircraft-grade aluminum with a Type II anodized finish and is available in black. The SL-20LP is made of lightweight, impact-resistant nylon polymer designed with a non-slip rubber comfort grip. This model is available in high-visibility yellow, safety orange or non-glare black.

Both lights are available with either a 5-cell, 6.0 Volt Ni-Cd or Ni-MH sub-C battery that is rechargeable up to 1,000 times. An illuminated switch housing indicates charging status, displaying a steady light for charging and a blinking light when charging is complete.

Both models feature a multi-function, push-button barrel switch, which allows for one-handed operation of the momentary, variable intensity or strobe modes.

The SL-20L and SL-20LP are backed by Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty. The SL-20L has a MSRP of $223.00 and the SL-20LP has a MSRP of $181.00 with multiple charging options.
