BEAVERTON, Ore. – Designed to provide hunters and shooters with best-in-class riflescopes, Leupold’s 2012 VX®-1 line offers a variety of new features at prices that essentially remain the same as those for VX-I in 2011.
“VX-1 replaces the VX-I (Roman numeral designation) line and has features that were formerly reserved for higher-end Golden Ring® riflescopes,” said Pat Mundy, communications manager for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “No other scopes in VX-1′s class can match its quality, performance and value, especially since we were able to hold the line on price.”
Leupold’s Quantum Optical System™ highlights the new VX-1. Tailored specifically for this riflescope line, the system includes lead-free, precision-ground and polished lenses with Leupold’s exclusive Multicoat 4® coatings for enhanced resolution, clarity and contrast. Carefully positioned in optimum relationship to each other, the lenses deliver up to 92 percent total light transmission.
Other features include finger-adjustable, ¼-MOA click windage and elevation dials that allow quick zeroing and easy adjustment in the field. The power selector ring incorporates a tactile indicator, making it easy to grasp and turn even while wearing gloves. A fast-focus eyepiece with a low-profile lock ring makes reticle focus easy to achieve and maintain.
VX-1 sports modern styling with a gold-plated Leupold® medallion highlighting the exterior design. Like all Golden Ring riflescopes, VX-1 is waterproof, shockproof and fog proof.
Magnifications in the VX-1 line include 2-7x33mm, 3-9x40mm, 3-9x50mm and
4-12x40mm, with a variety of reticle and finish options for different hunting styles, game and ranges. The line also includes Shotgun/Muzzleloader and Rimfire models. Suggested retail prices range from $210 to $320.
Built for rugged use with a one-inch maintube manufactured from 6061-T6 aircraft-quality aluminum alloy, VX-1 is covered by Leupold’s Full Lifetime Guarantee.
