Overland Park, Kan. — In 2010, Bushnell introduced the Fusion 1600 ARC laser range finding binoculars. The product was an instant hit with consumers who wanted quality optics with the latest in laser range finding technology, and was later named Optic of the Year in the 2011 NRA Golden Bullseye Awards, presented by American Rifleman Magazine.

In 2011, Bushnell has added a 12x 50mm model for extended-range glassing. The Fusion features BAK-4 roof prisms, a built-in battery life indicator, twist-up eyecups, and fully multi-coated optics. Its fully waterproof design meets IPX7 waterproof specifications, and the patented RainGuard® HD coating beads up moisture and prevents fogging, guaranteeing a clear view on unclear days.

The built in laser rangefinder measures distances from 10-1,600 yards, with +/- one-yard accuracy. It features ARC (Angle Range Compensating) technology, which calculates the angle to the target – from -90 to +90 degrees – and provides the “hold over” range for rifle shooters and the true horizontal distance for bow hunters. The Fusion offers five different modes of operation, including the Brush, BullsEye and Scan viewing modes and Bow and Rifle shooting modes.

An additional key feature is the Variable Sight-In Distance capability, also known as VSI™. In rifle mode, 100, 150, 200 and 300 yard sight-in distances are available to accommodate different shooting styles and preferences. Users can also choose between inches and MOA for holdover on longer shots.

The display incorporates state-of-the-art Vivid Display Technology™ for improved light transmission and resolution. With four adjustable intensity settings and high contrast, the Fusion provides legible distance readings in every light condition.

The Fusion 1600 ARC 12x 50mm laser range finding binoculars include a battery, neck-strap and carrying case for a suggested retail price of $999.99.

LEUPOLD Introduces RX-1000i Rangefinders with DNA(tm)

BEAVERTON, Ore. – Powered by an exclusive new rangefinder engine technology, Leupold‘s® RX®-1000i with DNA™ fits in a shirt pocket, yet offers hunters and shooters even more ranging precision and speed, along with an exceptionally bright target image.

DNA (Digitally eNhanced Accuracy), a next-generation Leupold technology, not only increases ranging speed, but makes the RX-1000i accurate to 1/10 of a yard against all background colors and textures. DNA also provides the RX-1000i with greater ranging capability against soft targets such as deer and trees.

A digital laser rangefinder, the compact RX-1000i with DNA measures only 3.8 inches long and weighs just 7.8 ounces. Its multicoated lens system produces a bright, pristine image, helping to transmit 80 percent of available light to the eye – three times greater than the light transmission of traditional Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) rangefinder models. Actual 6x magnification and a vivid red Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) display also make it easier to spot and range game, even through dark timber and in low-light conditions.

The advanced RX-1000i TBR® with DNA models also offer Leupold’s exclusive True Ballistic Range® technology to help place shots with exceptional accuracy.

All RX-1000i units are weatherproof and rugged, with a tough aluminum casing and rubber armor. The RX-1000i with DNA has a black finish, while the TBR model is available in either gray/black or Mossy Oak® Break-Up® Infinity™ camouflage.

“Following on the heels of our successful RX-1000 introduction in 2009, the new RX-1000i with DNA models once again raise the bar on compact rangefinder function and performance, giving hunters and shooters a handy tool to easily spot targets and range them faster and more precisely than ever,” commented Pat Mundy, communications manager for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “These are truly innovative rangefinders that offer the best of all worlds: shirt pocket size for easy and convenient carrying, exceptionally rugged to withstand the hardest hunt, and superior ranging performance to help set up for an accurate shot.”

Maximum range of the RX-1000i with DNA is 1,000 yards (914.4 meters) on reflective targets. Minimum range is 6 yards (5.5 meters). In bow mode, maximum range is 125 yards (114.3 meters). Scan mode provides continuous range updates to help stay on target when tracking movement or scanning an area. Measurements are provided in yards or meters.

Other key features include:

* OLED display has variable brightness settings, making it easier to see in dim light than LCD displays typical of most other rangefinders
* fast-focus eyepiece with precision clicks
* redesigned Quick Set Menu provides on-screen prompts for easy use in the field
* selectable reticles – hunters can choose from three different reticles to best suit the terrain and game, from elk to small varmints
* fold-down rubber eyecups accommodate users with or without glasses
* convenient battery power indicator

The RX-1000i TBR with DNA units can automatically calculate the shot angle and provide the True Ballistic Range rather than the straight-line distance to the target. Optimized for most popular bow and rifle trajectories, the rifle settings also work in conjunction with Leupold’s Ballistic Aiming System® riflescope reticles for exceptionally accurate shot placement. Available only in the RX-1000i TBR, milliradian outputs can precisely match mil based reticles such as the Mil Dot, TMR and Horus Vision® offerings.

Each rangefinder comes with a Cordura® holster, lanyard, CR2 lithium camera battery and complete instructions. For more information, go to www.leupold.com or call 1-800-LEUPOLD.

Leupold Introduces Optical Ideas for More Successful Hunting

BEAVERTON, Ore. – As hunting seasons approach around the country, Leupold® offers the following ideas for using optics technology to achieve more success afield.

Customize. Riflescopes can be customized more than ever to suit individual preferences and specific hunting conditions. For example, Leupold offers a Custom Dial System® (CDS®) feature for its VX®-3 riflescopes. CDS helps hunters and shooters get on target at any range, with any load, by matching their scopes to the ballistics of their ammunition. For additional information, go to www.leupold.com/VX-3CDS.

Accurize. Advancements in optics technology help hunters shoot with great accuracy. Recent examples include the True Ballistic Range® (TBR®) feature in selected models of Leupold’s RX® and Vendetta™ rangefinders. TBR automatically calculates the shot angle and provides the incline-adjusted distance to the target, rather than the straight-line distance. Another example: range-estimating riflescope reticles for specific types of hunting, such as Leupold’s Boone and Crockett® Big Game Reticle and Varmint Hunter’s Reticle.

Accessorize. Various accessories are now available to enhance riflescope performance. Case in point: Leupold’s Alumina® thread-on accessories, which help hunters use the available light to their advantage. With the Alumina system, a riflescope can be adapted to various light conditions, enhancing the visibility of game animals.

Illuminate. It’s no secret that some of the best hunting often occurs in the low light of early morning or late evening. To help hunters take full advantage of “prime time,” modern riflescopes come with upgraded features such as premium lens coatings and illuminated reticles. Recent innovations include Leupold’s Xtended Twilight Lens System™ and Third Generation Illumination.

For more information on the Leupold products mentioned above, go to www.leupold.com, or call 1-800-LEUPOLD or 503-526-1400. Good hunting!

Vendetta Archery Rangefinders

The new Leupold® Vendetta™ bow-mounted rangefinder will revolutionize the way you hunt and dramatically improve your chance of hanging meat on the pole. Not since the introduction of the compound bow has there been such a dramatic innovation in bowhunting. Vendetta gives you an instant and precise digital readout of your target range – at full draw – with no excessive movement and less busted game. Simply push the trigger pad and Vendetta continually adjusts distance, angles and elevation as your target moves. Shoot with stealthy confidence that’s dead on (don’t forget a sharp knife for field-dressing).

  • True Ballistic Range (TBR®) …The Vendetta automatically calculates incline/decline and distance to your target, and bow-specific ballistics to deliver the most accurate measurement possible. Our patented technology gives equivalent horizontal distance for precise shooting on an incline. No guesswork involved, just range and shoot.
  • One-Touch Continuous Scan…Hold the trigger pad down and continuously range an animal as it moves. No need to guess distances or work from pre-ranged markers. You get an accurate range every step of the way.
  • Laser Dot Alignment…Easily sync your Vendetta with your pins with the integrated sighting laser. Zero a target with the pin of your choice then align the laser dot with the same target. Now you’re “zeroed” and ready to range quickly and accurately.
  • Legendary Toughness…The Vendetta lives up to Leupold’s legendary standards for rugged durability. A durable polycarbonate body protects it from the elements, and the bumps and knocks of a typical hunt. You’ll be ranging with Vendetta for a good long time. We guarantee it.
  • Bow Mounted…The universal mounting system of the Vendetta mounts to the riser on any modern compound bow. It can be mounted for both right- and left-handed bows. The durable aluminum mount easily adjusts left and right, and up and down. The ball joint allows for further fine-tuning when mounting.
  • Compact Size…At less than 10oz and just 3” tall, the Vendetta will not adversely affect the weight of your bow or your visual field. You get a big time advantage in a compact package.
  • Battery Powered…The CR2 lithium battery provides thousands of activations, so the Vendetta can outlast even the longest season.
  • LED Display…Specially engineered for excellent visibility under any lighting conditions.
  • Trigger Activated…The ergonomic pressure trigger pad mounts comfortably on your bow grip. Natural hand position for instinctive easy activation with no excessive movement.
  • Legal for recreational archery in all U.S. states, permitted for hunting for more than 2/3rds of America’s 3.5 million bowhunters – View the list of states in which the Vendetta is legal for hunting.
