It was and will be popular with the range rider who needs to snatch the gun from a saddle scabbard and fire quickly.

The Short Rifle 94 has a compact 20-inch deeply-blued round barrel and straight grip walnut stock. It has a rifle-style forearm, black grip cap and full-length magazine. The sights are traditional with a semi-buckhorn rear and Marble Arms® gold bead at the muzzle. The rifle is also drilled and tapped for scope mounts.

Weatherby Announces Return of the Vanguard Deluxe

“Back by popular demand, our Vanguard Deluxe is an exceptional value,” said Brad Ruddell, Weatherby’s vice president of sales and marketing. “Initially introduced as the VGX many years ago, this rifle is nearly identical in appearance to our classic Mark V® Deluxe and has many of the same features, but costs much less. Like all our Vanguard rifles, its performance is backed by a written accuracy guarantee.”

The Vanguard Deluxe features a Monte Carlo-style, “semi-fancy” grade walnut stock (gloss finish) with maplewood spacers, and rosewood forend and grip cap. A polished action and high-gloss blued metalwork further enhance the rifle’s looks.

Vanguard Deluxe rifles that have serial numbers beginning with the new “VB” prefix will be guaranteed to shoot SUB-MOA (a three-shot group of .99-inch or less) with factory or premium ammunition. Each will feature the new two-stage Match Quality Target Trigger, which has an auxiliary sear for a “creep free” consistent let-off and pre-set sear engagement at .008-.012. The trigger is adjustable for weight of pull down to 2.5 pounds.

Other accuracy-enhancing features include a 24-inch, #2 contour cold hammer-forged 4140 steel barrel with field crown. In addition, Weatherby’s famous Monte Carlo stock design allows quick eye-to-scope alignment and fast target acquisition. A low density recoil pad helps control recoil and makes for more comfortable shooting.

Based on the legendary Mark V® action, the Vanguard has a one-piece machined bolt, fully enclosed bolt sleeve and three rings of steel surrounding the casehead for an extra measure of strength and structural integrity.

Measuring 44.5 inches in overall length, the Vanguard Deluxe weighs approximately 7.75 pounds. It is available in .257 Weatherby Magnum, .270 Winchester, .300 Winchester Magnum, .300 Weatherby Magnum and .30-06 Springfield. Right-hand models only.

Weatherby® Offers Mark V® Accumark, TRR Rifles in .338 Lapua Magnum

Weatherby® has chambered its Mark V® Accumark rifle and Threat Response™ Rifle (TRR) for the increasingly popular .338 Lapua Magnum long-range cartridge.

Originally designed as an ultra-long-range sniper cartridge for military use, the .338 Lapua Magnum has become a more common choice for big game hunters as well.

“Our Mark V Accumark and TRR rifles are designed for situations that require pinpoint accuracy at extended ranges, so the .338 Lapua Magnum chambering is a natural,” said Brad Ruddell, Weatherby’s vice president of sales and marketing.

The Mark V Accumark features a hand-laminated, raised-comb Monte Carlo composite stock with a matte gel coat finish and spiderweb accents. Also working to enhance accuracy is a button-rifled, #3 contour (.705 muzzle diameter) free-floated stainless steel fluted barrel with target crown. The 28-inch overall barrel length includes an Accubrake™ to reduce felt recoil.

Other features for precision shooting are a CNC-machined 6061 T-6 aluminum bedding plate and a factory-tuned, fully adjustable trigger. A Pachmayr® Decelerator® pad on the buttstock helps soften recoil.

Weatherby’s Mark V TRR rifle has a black composite stock with the CNC-machined 6061 T-6 aluminum bedding system. The three-position buttstock is adjustable for length of pull, drop at heel and cant of the pad, allowing a “custom-fit” to shooter size and shape for greater comfort, control and accuracy.

Also equipped with an Accubrake, the barrel measures 28 inches in overall length. Accuracy is further enhanced by the hand-tuned, fully adjustable trigger, which is factory set at three pounds with sear engagement factory set at .008 to .014.

Manufacturer’s suggested retail prices are $2,270 for the .338 Lapua Magnum Mark V Accumark and $2,879 for the .338 Lapua Magnum Mark V TRR. Right-hand models only.

Game Face Airsoft Introduces Two Gas Blowback Airsoft Pistols And Assault Rifle

ROCHESTER, New York – Game Face™ Airsoft, a division of Crosman® Corporation, worldwide supplier and manufacturer of products for the shooting sports, has expanded their offerings by adding three new products. The new GF460 is a full-scale AEG combat assault rifle. The new Game Face Airsoft pistols, the Elite Combat and the Mayhem™, are CO2 powered blowbacks providing realism for skirmishes and training.

According to Game Face Airsoft Product Manager, Jim Masseth, “The new Game Face Airsoft professional-grade products provide realism during training and close-quarter-combat scenarios. We’re seeing a lot of interest from the military and law enforcement communities who wish to use them for their force-on-force education and training,” he said.

The GF460 features a full-length, quad-rail interface system (RIS) that provides multiple options for accessories such as optics, flashlights or handles. “The polymer frame is strong enough to take the abuse of any skirmish, but lightweight so there’s no worry of fatigue,” said Masseth. The full metal gearbox and high torque motor provide a high rate of fire and velocities up to 330 feet per second (fps) using .20g BBs.

The Elite Combat pistol is as sturdy as the standard U.S. service pistol it resembles. Its full metal slide and frame, generous weight and comfortable grip provide a feeling of authority. This pistol is the ideal sidearm with its realistic recoil action and full-metal magazine. The high capacity magazine features integral CO2 valving and drops out at the push of a button. Simply push in a new magazine, for quick reload of ammo and fresh CO2 that provides delay-free combat action. Featuring an ambidextrous safety and a quick-detach slide for efficient maintenance, the Elite Combat reaches up to 330 fps with .12g BBs. Every time the gun is fired the slide blows back automatically and cocks the working hammer.

The Mayhem pistol offers convincing feel, hold and recoil action with its polymer frame, metal slide and fully functioning blowback operation. Realistic weight adds to the drama of this sidearm. For use in CQC and training exercises, the Mayhem reaches up to 1 joule of energy. It is equipped with a quick- detach slide for convenient maintenance and its easy-to-release full-metal magazine makes for delay-free loading of CO2 and BBs.

The GF460 rifle will be available in May, 2011 with an MSRP of $325. The blowback pistols are both available now. MSRP for the Elite Combat is $176 and is $100 for the Mayhem. Game Face Airsoft will exhibit its entire product line during SHOT Show 2011 in Las Vegas from January 18-21. Visit booth number 12740.
