Sinclair Offers Remington Bolt Tools

The bolt on your Remington Model 700 was not designed to be field-stripped by the shooter, but Sinclair’s Bolt Maintenance Kit (#749-011-311) makes it easy to completely disassemble your Model 700 bolt for cleaning or replacement of components.

The Sinclair kit contains a Remington firing pin removal tool, a mainspring changing tool, an ejector compressor tool, along with a bench block that holds your bolt steady while you work on it.

Bolt disassembly begins with the Sinclair Firing Pin Tool, which retracts the cocking piece far enough to clear a detent, allowing you to unscrew the bolt shroud/firing pin assembly from the bolt body. The Mainspring Tool then compresses the mainspring until a retaining pin on the cocking piece is exposed. You knock out the retaining pin with a punch, then gradually release Mainspring Tool pressure until the mainspring is relaxed. You can now remove the shroud and mainspring.

Replacing or repairing the Remington plunger ejector is even easier. Simply push the bolt through the open end of the “C”-shaped Ejector Tool, then rotate it 90 degrees so the locking lugs hold it in place. This allows you to remove the ejector retainer pin and remove the ejector and its spring. Your Model 700 bolt is now completely disassembled.

After cleaning, lubricating and/or replacing components, you can reassemble the bolt by simply reversing the takedown procedure. The Sinclair Remington Bolt Maintenance Kit comes with a sturdy, fitted case for convenient storage.

The pistol, introduced on the 100-year anniversary of the original M1911 pistol, has been specifically engineered for precision, durability, and accuracy.

The steel investment cast frame gives the Regent the weight of the originalM1911, while the 7–round steel detachable magazine allows for quick reloading. The wide spur hammer, arched mainspring housing, and low cut ejection port are all designed to give maximum performance and accuracy. From the standard feature Hogue® grips to the stainless steel hammer forged barrel, the Regent is truly an outstanding value for the quality.

The Regent .45 ACP 1911-syle pistol is available through select distributors, local firearm dealers and some national retailers. The retail price of the pistol is competitively priced at a suggested retail of $499, which is far below similar quality M1911 variants on the market. A stainless steel version, coming later this year with a handful of different features, will have a suggested retail of $599.

Stoeger X20 Suppressor – Quietest Airgun In Its Class

ACCOKEEK, MD — The latest innovation from Stoeger Airguns is the X20 Suppressor, which employs Air Flow Control (AFC) technology. The Dual-Stage Noise Reduction System™, designed by world-renowned silencer designers Humbert CTTS, makes it the quietest airgun in its class.

Unlike other airgun manufacturers that utilize only sound dampening baffles, Stoeger’s X20 Suppressor utilizes the Dual-Stage Noise Reduction System™. By combining the functions of an internal air-regulator ring and baffles that work in tandem, noise is reduced better that any other airgun on the market. The air-regulator ring has four decompression holes that bleed off most of the compressed air before the pellet even enters the baffles. The remaining compressed air dissipates throughout the baffles further reducing noise.

When tested in a certified anechoic chamber by F-Squared Laboratories, an independent testing facility, Stoeger’s X20 Suppressor proved to be as much as 7.05 decibels quieter than the competition’s “quiet” airguns.

In velocity comparison tests the X20 Suppressor not only achieved the highest average velocity among the tested airguns, but also, produced the most consistent velocities, important for attaining optimum accuracy.

The X20 Suppressor comes with a quality Stoeger 4×32 compact airgun scope with an illuminated reticle. The scope is factory mounted with rings that attach directly to an integral dove-tail located on the top of the receiver.

“As part of the Benelli USA family of products, Stoeger Airguns benefits from advanced engineering, technology and the innovations that separates Stoeger’s serious, precision-made airguns from the toys,” said Stephen McKelvain, Benelli USA VP Marketing & Communications. “The X20 Suppressor is a modern airgun with the look and feel of a quality sporting arm.”

Thompson/Center Arms Venture™ Predator Receives Great Buy Award From Outdoor Life

ThompsonCenter ArmsROCHESTER, N.H. -Thompson/Center Arms Company, Inc., a Smith & Wesson company, announced that the T/C® Venture™ Predator was recently selected by Outdoor Life as the Great Buy Award in the bolt-action category as part of the magazine’s 2010 Gun Test review.

The 2010 Gun Test is an annual review of new firearms conducted by members of the Outdoor Life staff. During the evaluation of each firearm, staff members complete a comprehensive review of each model noting such features as performance, accuracy, ergonomics, functionality and overall quality. In order to obtain an accurate representation on how each rifle will perform in the field, the rifles are fired from a myriad of shooting positions using a variety of factory ammunition from various makers in different bullet weights and styles. Once the smoke has cleared, judges individually critique the craftsmanship of each firearm while keeping their opinions silent from other reviewers in order to avoid bias.

After assessing the quality of the gun, reviewers grade the firearm on the basis of price and value. In order to be named a “Great Buy,” the firearms must receive the highest scores in each of these criteria while providing an outstanding value to the end user. The T/C Venture Predator exceeded in both of these areas and was further noted for its portability and accuracy while in the field. Among the many features appreciated by the team of reviewers were the rifle’s creep-free trigger, smooth action and balance while shooting from both off-hand and sitting positions.

The T/C Venture Predator won additional points for its integral-scope mounting bases, detachable magazine and rubber grip inserts for improved firearm control. Three-shot groups from the rifle measured an impressive ¾ inch across all ammo types, proving Thompson/Center’s MOA (Minute of Angle) Guarantee. When coupled with the rifle’s low price point, the T/C Venture Predator earned the Great Buy Award for 2010.

“We are very honored to have Outdoor Life recognize the T/C Venture Predator as the Great Buy for 2010,” said Tom Kelly, Vice President of Marketing for Smith & Wesson. “Throughout the development of the Venture family of bolt-action rifles, we did our homework and remained focused on providing a platform that delivers the highest accuracy possible with premium features not offered on a gun at this price point. We believe that the T/C Venture Predator offers better value to the consumer than any other bolt-action rifle on the market today. This distinction by Outdoor Life, reflected in the opinion of their staff, confirms that we are meeting that goal.”

The T/C Venture Predator is chambered in .204, .22-250, .223 and .308. Each rifle is guaranteed MOA accurate and sports a 22-inch precision barrel with 5R rifling. The T/C Venture Predator is standard with a Realtree® Max-1 camouflage finish, adjustable trigger and a single stack 3+1 detachable nylon box magazine. The rifle has an overall length of 41.5-inches, weighs less than 7 pounds and features a 13 5/8-inch length of pull. Made in the United States and backed by Thompson/Center’s famous lifetime warranty, the T/C Venture Predator provides the dependable accuracy, durability and reliability required for any hunting situation.
